Classical roots, modern Pilates.

I teach STOTT PILATES®, a contemporary approach. It keeps the main principles of Joseph Pilates' classical method and uses modern science to adapt each exercise to you and your goals. And as an OT, I know what to watch for while you do it.

Say you're coming back from a shoulder injury. In a session with me you relearn how to reach overhead while keeping your core engaged and your breathing steady. That's what makes the progress hold up once you leave the studio.

Every age and ability is welcome, including people working around injuries and ongoing conditions.

I've been practicing Pilates for over 30 years and began working as an occupational therapist more than 10 years ago. For a long time those were two separate career paths. Through time and experience, I've been able to merge these complementary skills into one career that I truly love.

As an OT I work in home health. I go into people's homes to assess and treat acute and chronic physical disabilities. That includes rehab after surgery, both planned and urgent, and neurological conditions like balance and movement disorders.

My focus is getting people back to the everyday activities they care about. Whether it's carrying groceries up the stairs, picking up a grandchild, or simply getting through a workday without your back reminding you it's there. Pilates gives me the tools to build the strength and control behind all of that, and my OT training tells me where to start and what to leave alone for now.

Bringing the two together means guided movement and rehab in one place. We work on how your body functions day to day, and on the mind-body connection Pilates is built on.

I'm nationally board registered and licensed in Connecticut as an OT, and certified in STOTT PILATES®. In plain terms, every exercise can be modified to fit your body. Not the other way around.

Education and training.

I started as a dancer. I first learned mat Pilates as a teenager at a summer ballet intensive, then found the reformer and yoga in college.

A few years into teaching Pilates and yoga, I wanted a deeper understanding of physical dysfunction and how to help people through clinically minded movement. That's what took me back to school for OT, and putting the two together is where TheraPilates came from.

Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or looking to move with more ease and freedom, I'm here to guide you every step of the way.
